Simply can't resist doing the 'proud Dad' thing as Thomas was featured in an article by Rupert Christiansen in today's Daily Telegraph. It highlights the support he receives from 'Music of Life' founded by the wonderful Maria Teterina (http://www.mofl.co.uk/) - a small charity that helps to give young disabled musicians a platform to develop and display their musical aptitude alongside seasoned professional musicians. If you didn't see it, the article is also on-line at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/opera/9295487/Thomas-Blumire-young-composer-who-defies-barriers.html . |

What a great article and you should be super proud of your son! He's a very dedicated young man and I wish him the best on Wednesday. Just let me know when his music is available on iTunes please.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jude, Yes we're so looking forward to tomorrow. His music isn't on itunes - it's a tricky subject getting permission from performers etc. but I could email you 'The Barn Owl' if you'd like.
DeleteBravo !
ReplyDeleteGros bisous
Merci Martinealison
DeleteYour love and pride shine through!! Bravo for your son!! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteps the moth photos are stunning!
Thanks Tanna. We've just had a 'Beautiful Demoiselle' in the garden too - I think it tops even the moths - try Googling it, they are superb!
DeleteThat is a a great article! You must be very proud of your talented son! Congrats and I wish him all the best in his upcoming concert!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tammy. The concert is at a wonderful venue - Temple Church was consecrated in 1185 and is reputed to be the best acoustic for choral singing in London! Can't wait!!
DeleteBest wishes for all of you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Aase Lind Art
DeleteCongratulations to you both!Wonderful news!
ReplyDeleteThank you Breathtaking - by the way your green lizard photographs are especially breathtaking!!
DeleteYou have every right to be proud of your remarkable son Jerry. All good wishes for Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jan, wish we knew if it's to be recorded - we have asked but not heard a definite yes.
DeleteGlad you posted this, we don't get the Telegraph so would have missed it. What a super son you have, no wonder you are so proud of him.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed reading about it all Ann. Yes, we are so proud of him.
DeleteI always love it when I meet up with Thomas at Holmethorpe. A great lad. Please say hello to him from me!
ReplyDeleteOh, and what a fine taste in county cricket teams he has!
ReplyDeleteCheers Steve - Yes Thomas is a mega Surrey Cricket fan and has even been a mascot. Last year for Thomas' 18th Surrey gave him a season ticket plus an extra one for me - to take him of course!! So we spent a LOT of time up at the Oval (and at Guildford... and the test match v India...).
DeleteHi again Jerry,
ReplyDeleteI've just read your response to Steve Gale and my husband is deeply envious about the cricket tickets :-)
Best not tell your husband that the tickets were for the members pavillion then!! The staff there are all so friendly and soon got to recognise us. When we were at the Test match it was very hot and they kept checking we were ok even bringing us ice cold water from time to time!
DeleteDear Jerry! How I wish that everyone's life was a garden of roses (no thorns)!
ReplyDeleteInstead, in our beautiful garden there are difficulties, struggles and worries.
Hope
love for life
love for the arts and beauty
change for the better life with the help of God
What wonderful results are obtained when love becomes action!
Congratulations for your super-son!
Thank you Rita, yes Thomas is very good at not letting the 'thorns' of life get the better of him and making the very most of the positive things life has to offer. He inspires us all.
DeleteA great article, I hope you all enjoyed the concert, congratulations to Thomas for his achievements.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. Yes the concert was incredibly moving and amazing - it is impossible to put into words how special it really was!
