Leysdown Beach

Usually, I only paint in acrylics for my job but I've tried it here just for fun
with this scene from our recent birding trip up to Sheppey.

  2. Beautiful! I love the colors and the sparkles in the water. At first I thought it was a photo then I realized it was so much more than a photo.

    1. Thank you Jude, You are very kind. Yes it was painted from a photo and then I tried to emphasise the things that struck me when we were there.

    1. Thanks Alan, hope you saw some good stuff (and that it wasn't too chilly).

  4. That's a cracker Jerry. In all the time that I've known you it is only recently that I've come to realise that you possess such artistic skills.

    1. Cheers Steve, putting lots of images up means I can avoid doing so much writing - I'm afraid I don't have as entertaining a way with words as you do (which is a sentence in itself that prooves it!).

    1. You're too kind Hilda! I was looking at your blog earlier and was so taken by your depictions of people - I have not been brave enough to give it a go! (especially love the one of your grand-daughter looking through the telescope).

  8. Oh, my goodness, your painting is just beautiful Jerry! I honestly thought it was a photograph at first sight. I think your use of colour is stunning. There is something quite mesmerising about it.

  9. I really enjoyed reading your blog entries. I have been hearing about England's cold winter, but your photos really make me realized how cold it is! I had never heard of moth traps until reading your posts about it. Very interesting.

  10. Thanks Virginia; The moth trap is great fun, it doesn't harm them (as long as I'm careful) and I love looking in on a whole other world going on out there that is largely ignored by most people. Thankfully the weather's much milder now. In fact so much so that I had another go with the moth trap last night - and success! (I'll put up something from it later).

  12. Thanks Ann, thanks too for the acrylic palette tip on your blog. I've always used old plastic lids off things and then just throw them away afterwards - but I keep running out and end up wasting time hunting around for another - not now though!
