NOT as intended.

Fellow blogger and fabulous artist Sonia suggested the grapes photograph from an earlier post would make a great watercolour composition so I decided to give it a go. Sonia would have produced a far better result. I set out to create a free flowing, spontaneous rendition but instead ended up painting each grape individually - why??! Using far too varied a palette of colours, these grapes all look so unrelated to each other. Hopefully I will learn by this, oh well.

  1. Estimado Jerry. Sonia

  2. i like it! it sort of represents we humans - we're all connected - even sometimes within the same family - and yet we all develop differently, have our own characteristics and 'color'. it is beautiful, jerry!

    1. TexWisGirl I like your analogy - it doesn't matter what colour we are, we are all part of one whole and we are at our best when we celebrate that.

  4. Hi Jerry. Pleased to meet you. Really liking your painting especially the colours. Even though there is a lovely mix of shades here there is still a sereneness and harmony about this. Everything seems to sit together extremely comfortably. Lovely work.

  9. They don't look unrelated to me! They are beautiful, and they have great color harmony even though they are diverse, it adds so much interest. It's looking really lovely Jerry. :)

    1. Thank you Sandra, I'm glad you mentioned the translucency element as the green grapes in the centre is one of the parts that I am happier with. By the way, I especially love the freshness of your 'Jonezy' painting!
