Super Son!

Simply can't resist doing the 'proud Dad' thing as Thomas was featured in an article by Rupert Christiansen in today's Daily Telegraph. It highlights the support he receives from 'Music of Life' founded by the wonderful Maria Teterina (http://www.mofl.co.uk/) - a small charity that helps to give young disabled musicians a  platform to develop and display their musical aptitude alongside seasoned professional musicians. If you didn't see it, the article is also on-line at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/opera/9295487/Thomas-Blumire-young-composer-who-defies-barriers.html .

    1. Thank you Jude, Yes we're so looking forward to tomorrow. His music isn't on itunes - it's a tricky subject getting permission from performers etc. but I could email you 'The Barn Owl' if you'd like.

    1. Thanks Tanna. We've just had a 'Beautiful Demoiselle' in the garden too - I think it tops even the moths - try Googling it, they are superb!

    1. Cheers Steve - Yes Thomas is a mega Surrey Cricket fan and has even been a mascot. Last year for Thomas' 18th Surrey gave him a season ticket plus an extra one for me - to take him of course!! So we spent a LOT of time up at the Oval (and at Guildford... and the test match v India...).

  9. Hi again Jerry,

I've just read your response to Steve Gale and my husband is deeply envious about the cricket tickets :-)

    1. Best not tell your husband that the tickets were for the members pavillion then!! The staff there are all so friendly and soon got to recognise us. When we were at the Test match it was very hot and they kept checking we were ok even bringing us ice cold water from time to time!

  10. Dear Jerry! How I wish that everyone's life was a garden of roses (no thorns)!
Instead, in our beautiful garden there are difficulties, struggles and worries.
    Hope
    love for life
love for the arts and beauty
change for the better life with the help of God
What wonderful results are obtained when love becomes action!
    Congratulations for your super-son!

    1. Thank you Rita, yes Thomas is very good at not letting the 'thorns' of life get the better of him and making the very most of the positive things life has to offer. He inspires us all.
